Dr Herath trained as a medical oncologist and nuclear medicine physician. He is Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at Peter Mac and the medical lead for the Epic electronic medical record. His clinical area of interest is lung cancer. In addition to his roles at Peter Mac, he is Head of Cancer Services at Western Health and Clinical Director of the Western and Central Melbourne Integrated Cancer Services (WCMICS).
