Associate Professor Caroline Owen is Director of Cancer Education at Peter Mac Callum Cancer Centre. She has over 20 years of experience in education and research in the university and healthcare sectors, including 13 years leading the research education program for the Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Oncology (University of Melbourne).

Establishing Peter Mac’s Office of Cancer Education in 2020, Caroline now provides academic leadership to advance Peter Mac’s recognition as a centre of excellence in cancer education.

She is driving new education initiatives and supporting cancer education and learning for all healthcare professionals, researchers, support staff, patients and carers. She is leading education development across Peter Mac in a coordinated approach to facilitate education that will shape advances in research and clinical care that will lead to better outcomes and experiences for people affected by cancer.

Recognising the importance of partnerships and collaborations, Caroline is driving the development of national and international education collaborations to support educational development and innovation at Peter Mac.
