Visitors coming to Peter Mac
There is no restriction in the number of people accompanying a patient to an appointment.
Upon arrival, our dedicates staff are available to assist patients and visitors, offering guidance and additonal information as needed.
Masks will not be required for patients, visitors or contractors except when special precautions are required to protect patients with higher clinical risk.
Exceptions, where N95 masks must be worn are:
- Visitors in Ward 5A and in Haematology clinics. Peter Mac recommends that all Haematology patients wear a mask when attending for treatment or appointments.
- If you are a household contact of someone with COVID-19.
- Inpatients who test positive to COVID-19, and patients with suspected COVID-19, are also required to wear an N95 mask, or a surgical mask if an N95 is not tolerated.
Exceptions, where a surgical mask should be worn are:
Patients and visitors to areas designated as ‘higher risk’ including Chemotherapy Day Unit, Medical Day Unit, Clinical Trials, Apheresis, Ambulatory Cell Therapies (1E) and the Symptom and Urgent Review Clinic.
Face masks are available for patients, visitors and contractors who choose to wear them.
