Genotyping Core

The Genotyping Core facility provides efficient and cost-effective genotyping services to the cancer research community

The Genotyping Core provides a comprehensive mouse genotyping service, from extraction of genomic DNA from tissue to reporting of genotypes. We also offer Mycoplasma testing of cell lines. We are experts in genotyping and have been providing genotyping services locally for over 10 years. The team is keen to assist researchers by providing a convenient, timely, high-quality and customised service. 

Genotyping Core services

Genotyping

  • We provide mouse genotyping via a range of methods:
    • Conventional PCR
    • Real-time PCR, including qPCR and High Resolution Melt analysis (HRM)
    • Allele-specific genotyping using Taqman/KASP assays
    • Genotyping-by-phenotyping using flow cytometry
  • We offer assay development and optimisation based on industry trends and best practice, and can establish new and custom projects, offering expertise in primer design and assay design

Mycoplasma testing

  • A qPCR-based test for the rapid and sensitive detection of mycoplasma contamination of cell lines
  • Based on established methods using universal primers, we can detect more than 25 different mycoplasma species, including those commonly found in cell culture

Genotyping Core use
