We offer competitive salaries equal with your experience and qualifications. We negotiate competitive salaries under our enterprise agreements. These agreements are subject to regular increases for most staff. 

We pay superannuation benefits in line with the Australian Taxation Office ruling to those working at Peter Mac. You can choose from eligible super funds. Your super rate could vary according to your role and university affiliations. 

You will receive 17.5 per cent loading on accrued recreation leave when taken. 

We recognise continuous service within Victorian public hospitals. Following the relevant agreement, this:  

• helps us determine your industry start date  

• lets us calculate long service leave and personal leave entitlements

Ask us about recognition of service if you have worked for an interstate health service. 

Salary packaging allows employees to receive more of their income tax-free. Permanent staff can receive a salary package of up to $9,095 per annum. This results in an income tax saving of around $2,700 per year for most employees. Staff can also package meals and entertainment expenses (capped at $2,500 per year).  

Most full-time positions include a monthly day off. 

Most full-time positions for those working at Peter Mac include four or five weeks annual leave entitlement.  

This is available for certain positions. By reducing your pay, you can receive up to four weeks of added annual leave. 

This is available after 12 months of continuous service. 

Cumulative personal (sickness) and carers leave is payable for personal illness or when caring for immediate family or household members. 

We know that balancing family and work responsibilities can be a challenge. 

Our Melbourne facilities include clean and private parents rooms where you can express and store breast milk, or feed and change babies, while working at Peter Mac. 

We offer some paid parental leave on top of the Government Paid Parental Leave Scheme. Eligible staff need to have completed 12 months of service before their child is born or adopted.
