The ripple effect of cancer – family, friends, and intimacy
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the ABC’s Jacinta Parsons will engage in conversation with authors and breast cancer survivors Patrice Capogreco and Danna Diaz who will share their stories and the ripple effect their diagnosis had on them, their families, relationships, and their connection to self.
They will explore the widespread impact on the person diagnosed and everyone around them.
The discussion will examine the emotional and physical intersections of cancer, relationships, and intimacy.
'I Love Someone with Cancer' by Danna Diaz is a children's picture book that explores the big feelings triggered by a loved one's cancer diagnosis. 'FK with Cancer' by Patrice Capogreco is a story that goes beyond breast cancer awareness - it is a celebration of life, bodies, love, and intimacy.
The panel will also be joined by Associate Professor Safeera Hussainy, Senior Pharmacy Research Manager, who is currently lead new study to uncover the unspoken sexuality challenges faced by patients to develop a brand-new sexuality service at Peter Mac.
There are two sessions available for this event:
