What are blood clots?
Blood clots form when blood changes from a liquid to a gel, blocking blood vessels. In your legs or arms, this is called deep vein thrombosis (DVT). If a clot travels to your lungs, it can cause a pulmonary embolism (PE), which can be life-threatening.

Treatment Options
If you develop a blood clot your treatment team will prescribe a higher dose of a blood thinner. The blood thinner will make your clot smaller and help it disappear and prevent more blood clots.
You will need to take the blood thinner for three to six months to treat your blood clot and sometimes longer. Your treatment team will provide regular follow ups to monitor the blood clot based on your symptoms.
Your treatment team will work with you to find the best option.
