Dr Ankit Dutta
Biography
Dr Ankit Dutta is a Senior Research Officer in the Sarah-Jane Dawson Lab at Peter Mac, with research interests in the field of medical oncology, liquid biopsies and genomic medicine. In the Dawson Lab he is working on projects advancing translational knowledge on the use of blood-based analytes for cancer detection/diagnosis, and precision intervention as a powerful tool to improve quality of life and reduce health care costs.
He completed his undergraduate, Honours and PhD in Medicine at The University of Adelaide, Adelaide, South Australia.
Prior to joining the Peter Mac in 2024, he undertook Post Doctoral training in the Ghobrial Lab at The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School and Broad Institute (Boston, Massachusetts) - specifically focusing on genomic studies of primary tumor and rare circulating tumor cells to better understand their biology, and use as biomarkers for screening and disease progression in multiple myeloma.
Ultimately, his future goal is health innovation and the emerging field of precision medicine, translating scientific discoveries into practical solutions for early cancer detection and improved patient outcomes in the clinic.
