Foundations for Allied Health in Cancer Care

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is a world leading cancer research, education and treatment centre and Australia’s only public health service solely dedicated to caring for people affected by cancer. 

Who this course is for: Are you a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, exercise physiologist or allied health assistant with an interest in cancer care? A desire to learn about how to deliver best practice for cancer patients and their carers?

Then this course is for you!

You will get chance to meet and hear from experts in oncology including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Exercise Physiologists.

This introductory course will include:

  • Presentations on the impacts of cancer and its treatment throughout the cancer pathway, from prehabilitation to palliative care 
  • Discussions on complexities in cancer including lymphoedema, oncological emergencies and cancer related fatigue 
  • In-person practical workshops on Exercise in Cancer and Complex Seating and Pressure Care  (in-person participants only) 
  • Opportunities for you to network with other colleagues
