Biography

Dr Charlotte Chen earned her Ph.D. in translational cancer research in 2020, specialising in investigating the mechanisms and efficacy of a first-in-class, small molecule inhibitor for the treatment of adult high-grade glioma, paediatric ependymoma, and DIPG. Throughout her Ph.D., Charlotte established robust research experience in brain tumour cancer research, acquiring extensive hands-on technical expertise in molecular biology and cell biology. This pivotal Ph.D. experience set the stage for Charlotte's career trajectory as a scientific researcher with a focus on novel cancer therapeutic pathways.

Following graduation, Charlotte channelled her passion and expertise into an industry role as a research scientist, immersing herself in the field of cancer immunotherapy. Her research skills were refined, and a profound interest in cancer immunology emerged. After two meaningful years in the industry, Charlotte transitioned to Peter Mac, where she currently serves as a postdoc, concentrating on the study of the tumour immune microenvironment for paediatric tumours, including brain tumours and bone cancer. The research outcome of her work will have a significant impact on the development of paediatric immunotherapies.
