Dr Damien Kee

Medical Oncologist

Biography

Dr Damien Kee is a Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in melanoma and skin cancers, rare cancers and genomics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (Medical Oncology) and obtained a Doctor of Medical Science investigating melanoma biology and imaging (University of Melbourne). 

Damien also leads the melanoma and skin cancer services at the Austin Hospital; and is a clinician-scientist at the Walter Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, developing national rare cancer research infrastructure such as the WEHI Stafford Fox Rare Cancer Program and Australian Rare Cancer Portal.

Dr Kee is a Governance Committee Member of Melanoma Research Victoria; Deputy Chair of the COSA Rare Cancers Group; and a member of the VCCC Personalised Cancer Care Steering Group.

He has been a principal investigator on pivotal studies of targeted and immune therapies for melanoma and rare cancers; clinical studies genomic sequencing; and clinical and research platforms to improve rare cancer outcomes. Damien's publications include original research in the journals: The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Cancer Cell, The Lancet Oncology, Annals of Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, and JAMA Oncology.
