Ms Jay Hamann
Biography
Jay Hamann is a proud Aboriginal Narungga woman, born, raised and always lived on Wurundjeri Country. With over 20 years of experience in various roles within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), Jay holds qualifications in Drugs and Alcohol, as well as Mental Health.
In 2019, Jay joined Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, marking her first role in a mainstream organisation. Despite initially having limited knowledge about cancer, her personal experiences within the hospital system inspired her to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. Jay is dedicated to assisting patients across all streams and ages throughout the entire hospital, ensuring they engage effectively in their medical care.
