Judy Forsyth
Biography
Judy has extensive clinical and managerial experience in cancer nursing with areas of expertise in haematology, transfusion practice, medical oncology, and cancer imaging. Judy is responsible for clinical education and training, competency skills assessment development and delivery. She represents nursing at multidisciplinary quality improvement committees, policy/procedure/guideline development and contributes to the ongoing professional and educational development of Peter Mac nursing staff. In addition, Judy develops content and conducts regional and rural Oncology study days with an emphasis on chemotherapy practice, oncological emergencies, Central venous access devicesa (CVAD) practice and management and is an eviQ online education content reviewer.
Judy was previously employed as the Course Coordinator, Graduate Certificate in Transfusion Practice (online) facilitated by Blood Matters and the University of Melbourne. She is a member of Cancer Nurses Society of Australia (CNSA), Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA), Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), and The Australian and New Zealand Society of Blood Transfusion (ANZSBT).Judy holds an honorary teaching (clinical fellow) position at the University of Melbourne School of Health Sciences. Judy is passionate about working with cancer nurses to support their ongoing clinical, educational and professional development in order to deliver high quality, evidence based safe patient care and support the complex care needs of people with a cancer diagnosis.
