Biography

Associate Professor Lisa Orme has been a Paediatric Oncologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Melbourne with a cross-site appointment at Peter Mac since 2008. She is the medical lead for adolescent and young adult (AYA) oncology at RCH. Her clinical and academic interests are in the areas of sarcoma, AYA oncology and onco-fertility leading to collaborations locally, nationally and internationally. Lisa has been involved in or led a number of single site trials early in her career, to being an investigator on cooperative group trials and co-leading supportive care trials and policy initiatives. She has had over 40 publications and 3 book chapters around her major research themes. In addition, Lisa is well regarded in her mentorship and teaching across two hospital systems where she has supervised multiple registrars and fellows.

Lisa’s current initiatives aim to improve the precinct systems for collecting and analysing clinical data with a focus on adolescent and young adult oncology patients across the VCCC precinct, and developing clinical pathways for the transition of care for adolescents diagnosed with cancer to the adult sector.
