Melanie Harper is the General Counsel for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She is an experienced health and commercial lawyer and is committed to the lawful, ethical and compassionate delivery of public healthcare. Melanie previously served as Legal Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel at Eastern Health and prior to that enjoyed a substantial career in private practice, including acting as a Senior Associate at Ryan Commercial Lawyers. Melanie provides legal advice to all areas of Peter Mac including: Board of Directors Chief Executive Peter Mac Executive Peter Mac Foundation Cell Therapies Pty Ltd Melanie sits on the following Peter Mac committees: Quality Committee Quality and Safety Committee Clinical Research Sponsorship Committee Parkville EMR Privacy Governance Advisory Committee Health Justice Partnership Steering Committee Melanie has also been appointed as a Member of the Committee of Management for Banksia Palliative Care; a community palliative care service based in Heidelberg that provides in home palliative care services.
