Dr Oguzhan Baltaci

Biography
Dr Oguzhan Baltaci is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Hogan laboratory, which is part of the Organogenesis and Cancer Program within the Peter Mac Research Faculty. Oguzhan received his PhD at Monash University where he studied conserved signalling pathways in neuronal development using the roundworm C. elegans and shortly after that joined Hogan lab in June 2020. He primarily focusses on the mechanisms regulating the development of pericytes and the role of these cells in maintaining the blood-brain barrier using zebrafish as a model organism. He is also interested in developing tools to study the blood-brain barrier dynamics in live fish and generating brain cancer models.
