Associate Professor Pearly Khaw
Biography
Associate Professor Pearly Khaw is currently the lead Radiation Oncologist in Gynae-Oncology at the Peter Mac. She has over 20 years of experience in radiation oncology, 16 of those years specialising in the management of gynaecological cancer patients.
She is a Clinician-Researcher and is actively involved in the Australian and New Zealand Gynae-Oncology Group (ANZGOG), where she is a current Board Director. Her responsibilities include the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee, as well as being an active member of the Research Advisory Committee and the Uterine Tumour Type Working Group.
She is a member of the International Gynecological Cancer Society (IGCS) Radiation Oncology Working Group under the IGCS Education Committee, developing the “Radiation Oncology Corner” project. She is also involved in the IGCS ECHO Program as an active member with IGCS Fiji Tumour Board.
She led the Radiation Oncology Quality Assurance Program of the PORTEC-3 trial in Australia & NZ, through the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG), in conjunction with ANZGOG. A/Prof Khaw has also led the formation of the Gynae Radiation Oncology subspecialty group within both ANZGOG and through RANZCR, raising the profile of this small craft group.
She was Deputy Chair of the Treatment Pillar Working Group for the National Cervical Cancer Elimination Strategy (Australia); due for release in 2023.
Associate Professor Khaw has been involved in endometrial cancer research for over 10 years as a part-time clinician-researcher. She has published many articles in high-quality journals and secured significant competitive grant funding for trials.
More recently she has been invited on to the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer and the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology.
