Biography
Dr Wei completed his MSc and PhD with Professor Phil Batterham at the University of Melbourne studying the endogenous targets of the most widely used insecticide, imidacloprid. Dr Wei joined the Hogan Laboratory of the Organogenesis and Cancer Program at Peter Mac as a postdoc in October 2021. Wei is passionate about conducting research that would contribute to the basic understanding of genetic, biology and cancer research. His research focuses on discovering the mechanisms behind the development of lymphatic vessels in both development and disease settings. To achieve this, Dr Wei uses a broad spectrum of research techniques including CRISPR-Cas9 directed mutagenesis, phenotypic assays, and confocal microscopy.
