Monash Cancer Centre is a partnership with Monash Health, providing radiation therapy services to people in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs

The centre is staffed by highly experienced radiation oncology clinicians and medical professionals who collaborate closely with other specialists at Monash Health to provide high-quality, timely, and seamless care for our patients. 

Our team at the Monash Cancer Centre consists of skilled radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, medical physicists, doctors, nurses, allied health, and administrative staff.   They work together to provide the highest standard of personalized patient-centered cancer care. 

As a public health service provider, we offer radiation therapy services free of charge for Medicare-eligible patients. 

Our team at Moorabbin campus

Our team includes skilled radiation oncologists, radiation therapists and medical physicists. They collaborate to design your radiation therapy plan and deliver your treatment.  Working with our nurses, allied health, and administrative staff, together they deliver the highest standard of individualised patient-centred care.  

Each of our attending radiation oncologists specialises in a specific tumour type and is also a member of the specialist multidisciplinary unit. These units include 

  • breast 

  • gastrointestinal 

  • gynae-oncology 

  • haematology 

  • head and neck 

  • lung 

  • neuro-oncology 

  • skin malignancies 

  • bone and soft tissue sarcoma  

  • and urology units. 

Our Moorabbin campus staff engage in education and research, including clinical trials to improve cancer care and treatment outcomes for our patients.  

Getting to Peter Mac's Moorabbin campus

Our centre is on the ground floor of Moorabbin Hospital in Bentleigh East. 

Operating hours 

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5:30 pm 

Saturday, 8 am – 1 pm 

Moorabbin campus car parking 

You can park on the hospital grounds at the front of the hospital. Fees apply.  

Public transport

Metropolitan and regional trains, trams, buses, and coaches are available. Call Public Transport Victoria on 1800 800 007 (6 am to midnight daily) or visit Public Transport Victoria to plan your journey.

Train 

Bentleigh Railway Station is on the Frankston line. It is three kilometres from the centre, along Centre Road. You can catch the 701 bus towards Oakleigh, alighting at Dover St/Centre Rd. 

Buses 

Bus route 703 stops between Blackburn Station and Middle Brighton Station stop immediately in front of the Moorabbin Hospital on Centre Road. 

Another option is from Oakleigh Railway Station. You can board bus 701 from there to Bentleigh and hop off in front of the hospital on Centre Road. Buses run every 30 minutes.  

Volunteer and ambulance transport 

For eligible patients, we can arrange alternative forms of transport when other transport is not practical. Please discuss this with your radiation oncologist.
