Ilana Berger is a Senior Social Worker and the Clinical Team Leader for the Victorian Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Service. Working in this field for over twenty years, Ilana provides expert clinical care to young people affected by cancer and their families. Through guiding, supporting and developing staff, Ilana ensures the delivery best practice evidence informed care of young people. Ilana has a leadership role in providing secondary consultation and delivering a broad range of professional development initiatives to clinicians locally, nationally and internationally.

Ensuring young people have a strong voice in informing and guiding cancer services, Ilana partners with young people to implement Victoria's Youth Participation Framework. She has participated in a range of research initiatives and has membership on relevant committees and societies such as COSA, PoCoG, Society for Adolescent Medicine and the Adolescent & Young Adult State-wide Advisory Committee. With a special interest in AYA oncology and palliative care, Ilana is a PhD candidate at Melbourne University seeking to develop a model of supportive care for parent caregivers of AYA with life limiting illness.
