The hunt for new ovarian cancer drugs
27 February 2024
February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and we sat down with Dr Kathleen Pishas to hear about her research looking at a rare form of ovarian cancer that often has poor survival – it’s called Low Grade Serous Ovarian Carcinoma.
She is currently undertaking the largest drug screening study in the world – with automated robotics testing how over 6700 medicines affect ovarian cancer cells.
The study is designed so results can be applied immediately to rapidly transform patients’ clinical management and improve survival of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
