Dr Kathleen Pishas

Postdoctoral Fellow

Biography

Kathleen has always been fascinated by the multitude of mechanisms that tumour cells employ to resist targeted agents, which is the reason why she has dedicated her research career to understanding the complex mechanisms of solid tumor drug sensitivity and resistance.

She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow, at Peter Mac undertaking the largest global high-throughput drug screening study (>6700 compounds) of low grade serous ovarian cancer cell lines to identify novel therapeutic avenues for this devastating malignancy.

Kathleen has over 10 years’ wet laboratory experience in the field of determining mechanisms of solid tumour drug (Ewing's sarcoma and Ovarian Cancer) resistance and sensitivity to novel therapeutic agents including TP53-MDM2 and LSD1 inhibitors.
