Medical student education

We offer elective rotations for medical students in their final or penultimate year of their medical degree

Medical student elective rotations

Peter Mac Medical Student Elective placements are available in Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Cancer Imaging, Palliative Care, Psychiatry/Psycho-Oncology and Haematology.

An Elective placement will involve joining the activities of the Unit, as deemed appropriate by the Head of each Unit. This may include “shadowing” of the Resident/Registrar, attendance at ward rounds, outpatient appointments, surgery, unit meetings and hospital educational activities.

Electives are offered for four or six-week rotations.

Please refer to our Medical student elective program FAQs for further information.
