Dr Andrew Guirguis

Biography

Andrew is a clinical-scientist (haematologist) with clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of myeloid-related disorders (including MPNs) and acute leukaemia. He has a specific interest in the pre-leukaemic conditions including the myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML). In his research, Andrew has a specific interest in RNA biology (therapeutics and epigenetics) and splicing mutations particularly in terms of their relevance to leukaemia. He currently sits in the Cancer Epigenetics group at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
