Dr Kwang Chin

Biography

Kwang is an experienced radiologist with a passion for interventional radiology. He graduated from Dundee, Scotland, and subsequently completed his MRCP after 3 years as a Medical Registrar in Dumfries, Scotland. He trained as a Radiologist in Birmingham and later undertook a 2-year Intervention Radiology Fellowship at the Austin Hospital.

Kwang's expertise lies in local ablative treatments, including cryoablation and microwave ablation, as well as intra-tumoural therapy and lesional biopsies. He is an active contributor to the field, regularly presenting at Genito-urinary oncology and Sarcoma Multi-disciplinary meetings.

Beyond his clinical work, Kwang is also heavily involved in medical leadership and education. He currently serves as co-chair of the Peter Mac Senior Medical Staff Committee (SMS) and consultative committee, and leads the Interventional and General Radiology service at Peter Mac. Additionally, he is an integral part of the Clinical Radiology Education and Training committee of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR), a member of the Specialty Training Unit Cabinet, and current Chair of the International Medical Graduate (IMG) committee. He is also a RANZCR certified Part 2 examiner and IMG assessor.

He is the current elected Vice-Secretary & Treasurer of the Australian Salaried Medical Officers Federation (ASMOF), and is part of the ASMOF EBA negotiation team.

In his free time, Kwang enjoys completing the weekly Sudoku puzzle that is the Radiology department Rostering.
