Tony Mulcahy has worked in Imaging for over 40 years, and have spent the last 20 running CT departments, previously at the Austin, now for the last 8 years at Peter Mac. A big challenge has been to lower doses to the population having CT scans whilst maintaining image quality. With new High Technology CT scanners we can now perform this, and we are moving into new Imaging potential with Spectral Energy. This means lower doses and patients not having to undergo as many multi modality scans as previously done. Also have collaborated with PET/CT to work how patients can minimise multiple scans within our department.
