Associate Professor Lisa Devereux
Biography
Associate Professor Lisa Devereux has been part of the Research Division at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre since 1982. After some 16 years on the bench, she became the Manager of the Tissue Bank at Peter Mac, serving in that role for just under eight years.
Lisa has extensive expertise in biobanking including development of operational protocols for participant recruitment and biospecimen collection and workflows for sample processing and storage.
In March 2008 she moved into an Operations Management role within the Research division, with key responsibility for managing the research grant portfolio within the Division. At the end of 2009 Lisa took on the role of Manager for the Lifepool Cohort, and in 2015, Manager for the BROCADE project. These cohorts are national enablers of breast cancer research. Since 2017 she has also managed the CASCADE project which provides a unique opportunity for Peter Mac researchers to study treatment resistance in donors for whom current therapies have failed.
