Biography

Associate Professor Sarat Chander is a highly experienced consultant Radiation Oncologist, currently serving patients at both the main campus at Melbourne and as the Director at the Box Hill Campus. He specializes in the treatment of Urological Cancers, Gastrointestinal Cancers, and Sarcoma, and is well recognised for his technical proficiency in Prostate Brachytherapy and Stereotactic Radiotherapy of Liver and other extracranial sites, making him a distinguished clinician in his field.

Apart from his clinical expertise, Associate Professor Chander is actively involved in advancing the field of radiation oncology through his research interests in brachytherapy and partially ablative radiotherapy for palliation.

His commitment to advancing the field is also evident through his involvement in professional organizations. He serves as a council member of the Royal Australia New Zealand College of Radiology (RANZCR), deputy chair of the Faculty of Radiation Oncology Genitourinary Interest Group (FROGG), and member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Australia New Zealand Sarcoma Association (ANZSA), showcasing his leadership and collaborative efforts in the field.

Associate Professor Chander's contributions to the field are further exemplified by his extensive publication record, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications to his credit.
